As of 1st August 2025, the new Rectorate of SFU officially takes office. The personnel changes will also see a reorganisation of academic and administrative management functions; notably, a Vice-Rectorate for Legal Affairs and Organisational Development has been established for the first time:

 

Rector Univ.-Prof. Dr. Johannes Pollak
is responsible for the strategic overall development of SFU, external representation, the conclusion of all cooperation agreements, and the overarching coordination of all faculties and campuses.


 

Chancellor Mag. Christian Arthaber
is responsible for the university’s overall financial management, budget planning and oversight, resource allocation, and the economic development of SFU.


 

Vice-Rector for Research Univ.-Prof. Dr. Marion Garaus, Ph.D.
is responsible for the university’s research strategy, the promotion of academic output, third-party funding strategies, and quality assurance in research.


 

Vice-Rector for Teaching Ass. Prof. Dr. Stefan Hampl
is responsible for all matters relating to teaching, curriculum development, quality assurance in teaching operations, and coordination between faculties in the area of teaching.


 

Vice-Rector for Legal Affairs and Organisational Development Dr. Teresa Schön
is responsible for the legal and organisational advancement of the university, managing and coordinating accreditation processes, contractual matters, and institutional quality assurance.
