Birgitta Schiller is an Individual Psychology psychotherapist and Co-Head of the Institute for Qualitative Psychotherapy Research at the Faculty of Psychotherapy Science, Sigmund Freud University, Vienna. Her teaching and research focus on qualitative psychotherapy research, the role of the body in psychotherapy, gender and transgender issues (nonbinary) in therapeutic contexts, and psychodynamic perspectives on identity. Methodologically, her work is grounded in interpretative approaches, including grounded theory and deep-structure hermeneutics.
