Doc. Dr. Tina Rahne Mandelj is a licensed marriage and family therapist and supervisor of relational family therapy. She holds a specialization (2005) and a doctorate (2015) in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Ljubljana. She was a young researcher at the Faculty of Theology in the field of ZDT. For many years, she worked as a therapist and supervisor at the Franciscan Family Institute, where she carried out various psychotherapeutic projects to help individuals, couples, and families. She wrote her doctoral thesis on vulnerability in relationships and young parenthood. As a therapist, she collaborated with the Europa Donna association in writing a handbook for patients, and as a supervisor licensed by the Social Chamber of Slovenia and a meta-supervisor, she has extensive experience in various fields of psychotherapy, social welfare, and education. For one year, she was the head of the Psychotherapy Teaching Clinic at SFU Ljubljana. She is a member of the honorary court of the Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
For the past three years, she has been employed at the VIZ Višnja Gora Professional Center as a psychotherapist for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems and their families. She is habilitated as an associate professor in the field of psychotherapy science at SFU Ljubljana, where she teaches the course Fundamentals of Psychotherapeutic Interviewing. She runs her private psychotherapy practice in Domžale.
Research interests: psychotherapy and marriage therapy in practice, vulnerability in interpersonal relationships, interpersonal regulation of emotions, children and adolescents, helping vulnerable groups and families, ethics in psychotherapy, supervision
