Prof. Dr. Martin Grabenwöger is head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Hietzing Hospital, Vienna. He received his doctorate from the Medical University of Vienna in 1988 and completed his training
as a specialist surgeon at the 2nd Department of Surgery at Vienna General Hospital (Prof. Wolner). Dr. Grabenwöger obtained the venia docendi in 1998 and was appointed head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Hietzing Hospital in 2004. He is a member of several professional societies and has published
over 150 scientific papers. Dr. Grabenwöger was actively involved in various working groups of the European Association of Cardiac and Vascular Surgery (EACTS) and was appointed President of the EACTS in 2015.
