Resume
Charlie Kaufhold teaches qualitative methods at the Master level with a specialization on the psychoanalytically oriented method in-depth hermeneutics. Charlie Kaufhold received their PhD from Justus Liebig University Giessen at the end of 2024. The dissertation is an in-depth hermeneutic study on psychosocial dynamics in the dominant society in connection with the “National Socialist Underground” (NSU). Charlie Kaufhold studied Gender Studies (M.A., Humboldt University Berlin) and Regional Studies Asia/Africa with a minor in Gender Studies (B.A., Humboldt University Berlin).
Research and work focus:
Psychoanalytical Social Psychology with a focus on Research on Right-Wing Extremism, Racism, Anti-Semitism and the Psychosocial Aftermath of National Socialism; “National Socialist Underground” (NSU); Critical Theory; Authoritarianism and Climate Change; Qualitative Social Research (in particular: In-Depth Hermeneutics); Gender Studies with a focus on (modern) Anti-Feminism and the Critique of Political Economy.
